Hi All,

I cannot compete with engine blowing after 25-30 laps. I believe sometimes downshifting quick is dictated by what is happening on the track (accidents) sudden breaking etc. I presume I can blame myself for too quick downshifting. Again in real F1 this issue does not exist as the system prevents to such a abuse of the gearbox and also allows really quick downshift under breaking (watch Rosberg breaking in bahrain when battling with Hamilton on T1). Please if this could be fixed. Also I noticed few drivers can be superbly quick by using Traction Control in the certain places on the track. Some of drivers including me are not able to use it as efficient as others which makes them really slow compare to the rest 0.8 - 2 sec per lap down. This is only my opinion but I believe few would agree on that. Removing TC or setting it permanently on one level for everyone would close the grid. Once again these are my thoughts not a commanding voice.

Hi Luke,

For your engine problem, what level was your radiator for this race ? I was at 4. If you were at 1 with quick dowshifting, maybe its normal your broke it... I downshifted quickly and i got no problem.

About the TC, well, its an infinite debate... if you put low level or if you delete TC, all the players racing with a controller and not a wheel will be in great difficulties...

To fix this, do you know the button that allows you to delete TC when you are on the track ? I use it all the time as some other drivers too.

I push this button and the TC disappears which is more difficult when i get out from the corners but it helps me getting out quicker.

And when i dont push that button, i have TC but it helps me only on some occasions... its a kind of security to not spin during races but it doesnt help me too much for lap times...

No problem Luke, you can ask questions like that, its normal Wink

Hope you understood me with my english !

Radiator was on 3. I just feel that I cannot downsfift the way to prevent engine blow. Also w TC it feels unrealistic. I would like to see lap times when everyone has the same level. As much ascI can put up with TC tricks the engine blowing will not allow me to race during the season unless this is fixed in the mod.

Well this downshift problem is stange... Maybe you are really too much agressive with your gearbox.

About lap times, i dont know what to say except that i disagree with you when you talk about "having the same level"... we just have more experience about this TC trick but at the end, its like if i m playing without TC if you want to know the truth Wink So we are playing at the same level. Anyway its not important, the main problem is your problem with the engine. You are right we need to find whats the problem... i repeat, maybe its your downshifting, too much agressive maybe ? I dont know. But your radiator on 3 is good.

Thats what I found on Internet. Not sure in which file....
For engine-damage caused by overrevving, the main-line ist the "LifetimeEngineRPM=...", based on the given values of the "RevLimitRange=".
And additionally the "LifetimeAvg=" and "LifetimeVar=".

The fact still that this mod is more strict about engine faillure, Luke are not alone to get Engine blow, Donato did the same many times for example. By the way configuration is the same for all, who said is depend on driving .
i dont know if u use different HUD or plugion who can show the % of engine remaining. That can help to see if you lost some percent at different moments.

You just have to care about downshifting, not a problem actually.
If you go beyond the limit of any mechanical system (engine or whatever) you have great chance to break it, it's physical ^^
